Rabbi D. Mordy Schlachter has semicha from Rabbi Rudinsky, Rabbi Schabes and Rabbi Saperstein, all Monsey, New York. He also obtained semicha from Beis Din of Mechon L'hoyroa, Monsey, New York. He is a student of Yeshivas Rabbi Chaim Berlin, Brooklyn and Yeshivas Mir, Yerushalayim.

Rabbi Schlachter's approach is to interpret the Torah, Talmudic and Aggadic texts through the scope of history and to derive their plain meaning. He translates the Torah in its plain meaning and leaves the drush interpretation to the scholars before him. He interprets the Talmudic and Aggadic texts based on their historical context, deriving their significance based on when and in what circumstances they were written.
